As we enter 2025, my goal is to be more intentional – intentional in the wines I drink, the interviews I do, and the goals I set. I want to approach Dallas Wine Chick with renewed purpose and focus this year. In terms of wine exploration, I plan to venture beyond my comfort zone, seeking out lesser-known regions and varietals that challenge my palate and expand my knowledge. Croatia, Portugal and South Africa top my list, but I’m sure there are others I haven’t even thought about.

Each bottle I open will be an opportunity for learning and growth, not just consumption (well, most of the time as I don’t want wine to become a job). For interviews, I aim to dig deeper, asking better questions that reveal the passion and stories behind the people who make up my stories. I’d love your feedback on the stories you’d like me to tell.

I remain committed to shining a spotlight on the voices in the wine world who have a great story to tell.

Just Because You Write About Wine, It Doesn’t Come with Sabering Skills

And if I can figure out how to saber with a herniated disc, that would be amazing too.

As I recently hit a 15-year milestone, I have an opportunity to focus on the stories told over the years, while setting intentions for the future.    By committing to exploration of lesser-known wine regions, deeper conversations with winemakers, and a continued focus on diversity and sustainability in the wine world, I aim to elevate my content and engage you in new, meaningful ways. Each sip and story contributes to a shared passion for wine and the remarkable people behind it.  Happy New Year!
